Local 913, Episode 97: Standard Broadcast

Pittsburgh indie rock band, Standard Broadcast just released their debut self-titled album in October. The band split the sessions between Fire K Studios and working at Jake Hanner’s studio. Hanner’s work with the band elevated their performance. Holly Fromlak, who has been playing guitar for over 20 years, originally joined the band as their drummer, but switched over to guitar to focus on songwriting. She says:
“Back in the day, they invited me to join the band. At the time, I was focused on the drums and trying to get a different perspective on music. When I was playing the drums, they asked me to write a song on guitar. I came up with “Me Without You” and I had Nate’s voice in the back of my head. Now when I do write songs, I try to incorporate myself in them and I try not to be shy on stage.”
