Local 913, Episode 70: Metacara

The electronic-duo, Metacara, made up of Kyla Sauber and Vince Nania originally were part of a different band:
“Vince and I met in another band. It was more of an indie rock band. He played guitar and I did vocals and played bass. He did most of the writing, as well. He came to me with beats. We were entertaining the idea of us working together and he has me sing over some beats he made. It grew from there.”
Nania brings a background of electronic music and hip-hop beats while Sauber’s inspiration comes from vocalists and jazz:
“It makes me a lot more open-minded especially when I’m working with Vince and he comes to me with a beat. Improvisation is the biggest takeaway [from studying Jazz] and working off of what other musicians give you. With Vince, I’m always finding my inspiration through him, so it’s kind of a co-dependent relationship that way.”
Their new single "Lending Face" features several special guests including local rapper Choo Jackson. For more on Metacara, go to metacara.com.
